Thunderstorms capable of heavy rainfall are expected across western Montana and central Idaho today. The primary concern will be slow-moving storms that repeatedly track over the same areas which could quickly lead to localized flash flooding especially in urban areas, steep terrain and near wildfire burn scars. We’ve already seen a Flash Flood Warning issued for the Daly Fire burn scar in Ravalli Co. this morning :(
Thursday afternoon, thunderstorms produced up to 0.40” per hour which can be expected with the thunderstorms today.
