As a ridge of high pressure remains to our south, the Northern Rockies sits on the northern fringe of it with a westerly flow aloft. This flow has continually pumped in smoke from significant wildfire activity upstream in Oregon and Washington.
Wildfire smoke continues to greatly degrade air quality and visibility across western Montana. I know… I’m sick of it, too. My eyes and nose burn when I step outside and Bryn and I have been getting headaches daily. Take care of yourselves, friends… still a bit to go (click here for the latest observations).
